Makeda — Ethiopia

A sublime organic coffee from a single small producer — a precious rarity in Ethiopia.

Mustefa Abakeno built a small lab right on his farm and hired an agronomist to produce an exceptional light honey coffee (8h fermentation and drying on «african beds»). At 2,040 metres of altitude near Agaro, his farm grows local varieties from the Jimma research centre. Mustefa has sold his coffees without a local middleman since 2018, ensuring exceptional traceability.

Superb as a pour-over, but surprisingly delicious as espresso and in a latte. Expect notes of strawberry and cantaloupe, and a floral complexity that perfectly reflects the producer's care and the uncommon process!
